On http://wiki.wikicreole.org/Creole%202.0/Discussion you say: The questions are designed to be easy to answer by anyone who is familiar with wikis.

Yet, I don't know "What kind of websites is WikiCreole for?" I've tried: all, wiki, wikis, forums, content, dynamic

Just what my raspberry pi needed. Light, speedy and clean. To top it all, the markup seems to be very close to mediawiki. Most excellent, thanks!

Hello Radomir. Congratulations and thanks for hatta. The goal is clear (note-taking, project documentation, simple text files) and the implementation brilliant. I love the way you can run hatta with plain python and just one zip file.

Thanks again ! Antoine

Radomir, curiosly, I have several elements in comun with your desktop (but LXDE). 1. Clear desktop with patterned (dark) wallpaper, no icons. 2. I Have one title bar (to the left, optimizing vertical space) 3. Application icons, mainly, those that with browse capabilities (terminal, filemanager and internet). I have not worspace switcher; maybe I have no a million tasks at once, and maybe it's reminiscence of winwdos 95, too. But, certainly, it remembers a bit to my desk. Best Regards.

Hi there. I just happened to stumble over your site by surfing the net and I wanted to tell you this: Your site is so amazing! I always wanted to have a wiki and use it as my personal website, but I wanted it to be more blog-like and more personal and I couldn't figure out how to do that. This site has really inspired me to try again and see if I can do it this time.

Thanks alot, A guy named Robin.

I looked at your drawings and other things. I like the simplicity. It is VERY refreshing.

Thanks, Jay

How can i had my custom style.css to my hatta mac buddle? – Helder

See documentation. – Radomir Dopieralski

I like the theme made by you, the theme is very simple. Thanks a lot for your work! – Halen Jane

Due to incompatibility problems after upgrading lighttpd, this website and a few related ones were unavailable or otherwise behaving strangely. I did not found a workaround for the new lighttpd bug, so I'm in the process of migrating everything to a different web server software. In the mean time some of the web pages may be unavailable – sorry for inconvenience.

Thanks for tell me time ago on irc the history of Eternal September (do you remember?). Now I posted about it on our universitary blog.

That's great, where's the link? – Radomir Dopieralski

This is the link (can you copy paste instead of jump to link?. It seems the first option doesn't go, ins't it?), http://translate.google.com/translate?prev=hp&hl=en&js=y&u=http://fcom.us.es/blogs/aulasdeinformatica/2009/10/06/el-septiembre-eterno-o-el-septiembre-que-nunca-termino/ I mentioned our anecdote at the end of post, as proof of network sharing. I hope you like. –JuanmaMP

Hi Radomir, I can't see Updates, it returns an Editing "history" Textarea –JuanmaMP

But solved when I save something … –JuanmaMP

BTW , this wiki accepts the chararcter ":" in uris, … –JuanmaMP

Of course it does, is that bad? – Radomir Dopieralski

I guess not :), only that it's forbbiden in other wikis. This is the first time I saw it. Maybe, I am a bit monothematic with flavors of wikis. Thanks. –JuanmaMP

Also, Select CSS via Javascript … –JuanmaMP

But that's also built into the browsers nowadays… you just provide alternate stylesheets in the header, and users can select them from the view→styles or whatever menu. I admit, I do plan to have a "use this page as stylesheet" extension for Hatta, but that's mostly to have a way to show off them on a page where you can download different themes. – Radomir Dopieralski

Afaik, Chrome i.e. hasn't it. Maybe (in this context), I wonder if your focus could be how could be the wiki with functionalities that no other technology could not have? and I'm focusing on how could be the wiki needing less of any other technology?.

Other Javascript utility I am considering is in order to allow hide/show different areas (for example to see extended text formatting rules).

Sorry for my english, I promise myself another course of english the next year.

Thanks for reply. –JuanmaMP

Sorry for long delay. You are right that Chrome doesn't have this functionality yet, but it's still in development. Maybe it would indeed be worthwhile to have a js-based switcher for the styles linked in the header.

To answer your question, I want Hatta to be comfortable to use, while using as from existing standards and technologies as possible, trying to not reinvent the wheel. At the same time I have to remember that my time and energy is limited – so I have to carefully choose what to develop.

As for wikis without technology: sure, with some discipline you can do wiki with just a piece of paper and a pencil. You hang it on the wall and tell people to modify, marking what they changed on the margin. Starting from that, you can add as many convenience functions as you need: put it online, add automatic change tracking, record page history, track authors, get rss feeds, etc. up to advanced things like WYSIWYG editor, fancy data presentation and aggregation, graphics editor, pdf generation and so on. – Radomir Dopieralski

It's true. Potentially, wikis are almost the whole input/output for the web. Thanks (never mind for delay, I treat to be in WikiNow). –JuanmaMP

Hi Radomir, long time ago without crossing with you in the net :). How are you?

I agree with you, not a great fan of JavaScript-overloaded web pages …

There's one that I like it, please see in action on http://perldoc.org (on right: Labels: Add this page ).

Best regards.

Hi Junma, great to see you. I'm not entirely sure about the purpose of that script you linked to. Maybe it's because it's not finished yet, there are 404s and the notes disappear… are they there to duplicate the bookmark mechanism of the browser? – Radomir Dopieralski

Thanks Radomir, please can you try http://fr.perldoc.org/?

You're right, it's not an essential feature, it's redundance with browsers, only that sometimes I imagine wikis in kiosk mode (I'm a rarity …)

Other: "Click on highlighted phrases to see the comments that have been made about them. Phrases that are subject to more comments are highlighted more intensely": http://gplv3.fsf.org/comments/gplv3-draft-4.html, curiosity? – JuanmaMP

You need to write protect these pages I think … I like your theme though. Are you running moinmoin? – anonymous

If they were protected, it wouldn't be a wiki anymore, would it? I do use MoinMoin wiki engine in quite some places, but this particular site runs on Hatta. Thanks. – Radomir Dopieralski
